The purpose of EPNI is to strengthen the community of the eastern panhandle of West Virginia by promoting a sense of belonging and collaboration among its residents. Through programs and services, EPNI aims to provide opportunities for children and adults to learn, grow, and develop essential life skills in a safe and supportive environment. EPNI strives to create a community where individuals can rely on each other and work together towards a brighter future.
Our Founders
Paige Kozak
President
Mrs. Paige Kozak is a lifelong member of the eastern panhandle community and graduated from Martinsburg High School in 2008 where she was a 4 year member of the Bulldog Band.
Paige is a passionate paraprofessional, working with students with autism and emotional disorders. She cofounded EPNI with Mr. Blom while volunteering as his assistant band director for the All-Star Band. In 2023, Paige was nominated for the Fred Rogers Institute Helper Award and participated in a Fred Rogers Institute Educators' Neighborhood Cohort. In 2024, Paige was the winner of a WV Can't Wait Award, recognizing everyday West Virginians that go above and beyond for their neighbors. Paige also serves as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for Children in Berkeley County.
Paige currently resides in downtown Martinsburg with her husband and daughter. She is an avid traveler. Her favorite place to visit may be London, UK, but the Eastern Panhandle owns her heart.
Mrs. Kozak can often be heard (quite loudly) reminding us "if you need help, just ask for it. The worst someone can say is no, and that's not a very big word!"
