The Jaxon Martin Memorial Award Fund was established to honor the memory of Jaxon Martin, a beloved member of the Eagle School Intermediate All-Star Band, and his mother, Christina Speaks. Following their passing in January 2023, the fund was created in collaboration with the Martin-Speaks family, to celebrate Jaxon’s bravery, kindness, and unwavering support for his friends and neighbors.
Each year, the fund provides a new instrument to a graduating fifth-grade band student who currently rents an instrument, ensuring they can continue their musical journey into middle and high school. The recipients of the award embody the best qualities we saw in Jaxon, and Jaxon was the kind of kid who wanted his friends to feel good. He often reminded us: “We’re All-Star Band; We take care of each other.”
With that goal in mind and in an effort to love more, we aim to continue to honor the short but impactful life of Jaxon Martin, by nurturing the next generation of musicians. Your contributions make a difference in honoring his legacy and supporting young people in our community.
